The now old CR-V was the best selling vehicle in its class by a mile,yet Honda had to move on.The new CR-V is completely new,based on the Civic platform and uses an improved version of the 2.4-litre unit.
Now with 159bhp and mated with a six-speed manual or five-speed auto, the CR-V remains a brilliant performer. It's not too frugal, but the power and handling compensate.
The cabin is still plush and comfortable and there are a few clever little modifications.Five adults can be seated pretty comfortably and the boot is also large enough.Equipment levels have also been improved upon and dual-zone climate control is a standard feature now.However,there are still no vents for the passengers at the rear .
Quality of plastics used are pretty good and the metal-finish inserts add to the appeal.Body panels are finished well with tight gaps and feels quite solid.
Safety features are also upto the mark with dual airbags and ABS with EBD.The CR-V is now a couple of lakhs dearer and VFM ratings have taken a hit.However,it will be superbly reliable and hold its value well.You can look at it as a long-term investment
