Maruti Suzuki has launched a special edition of the Alto 800 called the ‘Anniversary Edition’ to celebrate the successful one year completion of the hatchback in our four-wheeler market. As expected, the Alto 800 is the highest selling car in the country and been a success story for Maruti. The Special Edition gets features like new seat upholstery, body coloured OVRM, door trims, blackened B-pillar and rear parcel tray. To visually distinguish the car, it gets all new graphics and also a new colour option of Purple Haze.
No changes has been made on the mechanical front and the Special Edition
would be powered by the same 796cc, 3-cylinder engine producing 48PS @
6,000rpm and a torque rating of 69Nm @ 3,500rpm mated to a 5-speed
transmission. With the festival season on the anvil, this seems to be a
good move by the country’s largest four-wheeler manufacturer to cash in
on the opportunity. Maruti also had recently introduced a special
edition of the Alto K10 termed as the ‘Musik Edition’.
The Alto 800 Special Edition has been priced at Rs 3,12,751
(ex-showroom Delhi) which is just Rs 4,382 expensive than the standard
LXI (non-airbag variant) and seems a better option over the standard
offering.
