The X5 is so wildly accomplished that a replica can hardly be wrong. The X3 is smaller and more manageable around the city and makes perfect sense for those who want an X5 but find it to be unwieldy in tight urban traffic. The 2.5-litre, 211bhp petrol unit is pretty quick and provides sprightly performance. The six-speed automatic transmission also works well. Fuel efficiency of course isn’t this cars highlight.
Space is pretty good and it comes only in a five-seater configuration which leaves a decent sized boot to be used. The cabin feels rich with well appointed interiors and materials of good quality. The clear dash and typical SUV style high-up driving position are also welcome. Like the X5, the X3 also handles well, but the ride is a bit too firm.
