It’s an E-Class made better. The 3.5 V6 is smooth, but it just does not sound enough for such a car. the 500 is much more like it. Nice roar when you want it, total silence the rest of the time and one godalmighty punch when you prod the throttle to set the 306 horses free.
The CLS uses a lower and firmeR E-Class chassis. It is sharper around corners, is more competent with a flatter ride and less body roll. Form-fitting cabin at the front and rear, and tiny windows.The wood and leather in the cabin are nice, though some of the switches aren’t top-drawer. All the latest gizmos have been packed in with tons of safety features too.
A beautiful banana boat of a car with retro-signifiers, the CLS is a true gent on the road. Its incredible performance is joined by incredible handling to make this car for people who want more from their Merc.
