IT’S the most important launch from the Hyundai stable since flagship Santro rolled out nearly ten years ago.The i10,which was codenamed PA,had been creatign a buzz for a while and there was a lot of market interest in the new small car from the Hyundai stable. As it turned out,the new i10 proved to be both a cool package of features, well styled and designed and at a very aggressive price to boot.Powered by a 1.1 litre iRDE petrol engine ( a diesel version will debut first in the export market and later in India), the i10 offers nearly 67 PS A@5500 rpm and a peak torque of 10.1kgm@2800 rpm.The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with a console mounted ergonomic, short throw, i-shift gear box which frees up the space between the driver and the passenger seat and also offers a new look.An electric power steering makes it easy for i10 to negotiate city traffic.
